HALINA MILEWSKI MEMORIAL FUND (1995)

Orphaned early in life and placed in an orphanage, Halina Swiatkowska was removed from her beloved Poland in 1939 and placed in a German program to expand the Aryan race. With the end of World War II, she was liberated and she emigrated to Canada in 1950. This memorial fund was established by her four children to honor her strong sense of dignity, respect for all life, and desire to learn.
