“Established in loving memory of my daughter, Karen Dorothy Foulkes, the purpose of this donor designated fund is to conserve the special places that Karen loved, and to develop and protect new wilderness trails and lookouts in Charlotte County. Preference will be given to the promotion and conservation of the Simpson Hill area for low impact recreation and nature appreciation. Funds may also be disbursed to similar wilderness trail projects in the St. Andrews area, including Bayside and Chamcook, should the Simpson Hill project not require funding in any particular year. Simpson Hill was always a special spot of Karen’s. She would frequently go up there by herself and introduced many of her friends to its beauty. Karen was active in building trails and protecting this area from industrial development.” Tim Foulkes
