This fund was established in memory of Kenny and Jean Johnston by Brenda Johnston Sansom and David Sansom to support the maintenance and upkeep of the Moores Mills School (now called the James E. McGibbon Memorial Hall) allowing it to be used for community gatherings. Growing up next door to the school, Brenda has fond memories of great friendships, childhood antics, working as a school cleaner and of a favourite teacher – Marjorie Caldwell. Together with her six siblings, Brenda was able to attend school in Moores Mills until grade 8 after which time older students were bused to St. Stephen. The building is now maintained by a group of local, dedicated volunteers.
