This community fund has been established in memory of Sandy Thurber, the Executive Director of the Fundy Community Foundation for 19 years. Throughout her time at FCF, Sandy helped guide the distribution of over $2.3 million in grants to charities, schools, and initiatives across southwestern New Brunswick. She fostered relationships with both donors and grantees and acted as a bridge between the two worlds. She worked with many iterations of boards, working as a sounding board and the “feet on the ground” to bring their creative visions to life. Sandy was never one to accept praise or recognition for the things she accomplished, insisting instead that it was a collaborative effort and that she was merely part of a much larger picture. While this may be true, it is also true that Sandy made a direct and meaningful impact on the lives and work of countless students, seniors, families, donors, and charitable organizations. She will be dearly missed.
